Three Musicians converging on an epic plateau of sound and reflex. Three conscious minds communicating on sub-conscious levels. New York Citys CONSIDER THE SOURCE is the fourth voice, produced only when the trios three distinct personalities combine forces to share their inner music freely with each other.
Toting the loaded description Sci-Fi Middle Eastern Funk, their sound is a melting pot of Middle Eastern scales, psychedelic jams, and a hard rocking rhythm section. Featuring Gabriel Marin on Fret-Less Double Neck Guitar, John Ferrara on Bass, and Justin Ahiyon on Drums/Percussion, the three musicians cite their influences as including The Bad Plus, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimson and Tool but a major source of their musical power can be attributed to a trip the band took to India, where they studied the complex tala (rhythm) of North India, and the micro-tonal scale structure and melodic ornamentations of South India. The trio have since brought their experiences back to the recording studio and to the stage. Guitarist Gabriel Marin, recently highlighted in Guitar Player Magazine, says, Our music combines influences from Turkish, Bulgarian, North and South Indian styles with jazz and fusion, and then we filter it through our own heavy rock and psychedelic sounds and approaches.
The McLovins are a progressive jam, improvisational rock band that has produced three original albums, improvises extensively on their own songs, and also covers a wide array of newer and older tunes including those from bands like Phish, Rush, Grateful Dead, The Doors, Sugarhill Gang, The Meters, and more. "In a genre of music that normally requires a good three years of 100+ shows and slow burn word of mouth publicity, the McLovins appear to be the first band in the jam scene to actually blow up." (Hidden Track)
Emerging from the Pennsylvania music scene, from the outskirts of the City of Brotherly Love, is the phenom band known as Flux Capacitor. Their fiery, distinct sound has catapulted the group with lightning speed into the National Music Scene.
This band of brothers consistently inspire and evoke a new and wildly addicting sound resonating with elements of rock, improvisation and electronica. They redefine musicality with positive prophetic vocals, complex guitar work, innovative keys/synths/bass stylings, with feverish syncopated drum rhythms. Performances at every show dubbed Encounters are filled with improvisation, musical segways, spontaneous covers, and teases creating a one of a kind experience. The brothers are clearly devoted to current affairs, the future of the world, their craft and their fans. Their intense playing feels almost effortless and is charged by a higher power. Their electric vibe transcends the stage and extends into the crowd creating a magical musical ambience of jamming on tribal proportions. Flux has adopted a freer sylistic element of music that embraces and engages their audiences.
