The women of Antigone Rising, known for relentless grass roots touring, returns with new lead singer, Nini Camps. Founded by sisters Cathy & Kristen Henderson, Antigone Rising was catapulted into the spotlight in 2005 with their Starbucks/Hear Music/Lava Records debut release – “From the Ground Up.”
Nini Camps is a vocal force that holds her own in the musical landscape of Antigone Rising. Her voice blends perfectly with the signature-style vocal harmonies the band has become known for, while also adding her own unique sound. A first generation Cuban American, Camps originally hails from Miami, Florida. With the addition of Camps as lead singer, Antigone Rising continues to be known for their driving and vivacious live show, turning heads and gaining popularity with their poignant lyrics, catchy melodies and soaring three-part harmonies.

Whether she's cutting to the heart with her emotion-driven original songs or belting out cover tunes, Karen's penetrating voice, rhythmic acoustic style and intense emotional energy combine to capture her audience's attention. A polished performer as well as an excellent songwriter, Karen received a songwriting award from Nashville's Music City Search in 2002. In addition, several of her songs have been featured on Dawson's Creek. Karen has spent the past seven summers performing in the Cape Cod vacation destination - Provincetown, MA - and has propelled her self into a full time music career, abandoning her job as an elementary school counselor in 2003. "You've got to reach for your dreams...it's an attitude I've always tried to inspire in my students...now I'm living mine!" Karen has performed clubs, festivals, coffee houses, restaurants and colleges in all six New Engand states as well as New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, Illinoise, Wisconsin and California. "It's all about being genuine in your life and connecting with people... "If I can do that, I've acheived success."
